WALT use strategies to SPICE up our writing like SHOW don't tell.
In the weekend on a raining Sunday morning I went to the Zoo in Auckland with my sister, my aunty and my cousins. First when we got there we went to the cafe at the zoo because we were hungry. I didn’t eat anything and my tummy roared like a lion. ROAR!! So I quickly ate before the food was all gone.
After we finished eating we finally went to see the animals. First we saw the tigers but they were asleep. Me and my cousins were disappointed. So we went to see the Zebras, Giraffes, and Hippopotamus. The hippos were in the water so we quickly took some photos of the Zebras, and Giraffes. Next we took off to the Hippopotamus cage. ZOOM! Then me and my cousins beat my aunty and sister to them. I saw some binoculars and so me, my cousins, and my sister got the binoculars to look for the hippos. We saw the Hippopotamus through the binoculars. I was so amazed by them because they were cool. I loved them so much. Then we went to the bugs alive show. Bugs were crawling all over the place. It was so cool seeing live bugs. Then we went to see the birds. Different birds to what I see every morning and there were alot of birds there.
Later on we went to see the cheetahs. It was so cool when I saw cheetahs.The next animals we saw were the pigs but they were wild. They were babies. I just patted them but when I first patted them my hands were shivering and I couldn’t talk because I was scared. Finally we went to the next animal. They were night kiwi and butterflies. We went in to this dark house and it was so dark that I bumped into someone. I thought it was my aunty but then she called out to me and said “ANI WHERE ARE YOU COME AND LOOK AT THIS!” and so I freaked out because I thought it was my aunty and yes you can laugh. So I went by my aunty and all I could see were beautiful butterflies in a cage that had colourful rainbow lights. It was amazing.
